This 6 week-old apps (available on iTunes & Android market) not only allow you to find your friends from your social-network contact list, but it also allow you to see anyone who have checked-in anywhere around you, or in a specific location (which you can set to receive real-time update whenever a friend check-in).

How does it work?

Banjo is a social network discovery service which gather all available check-ins information. Note that all check-ins information via social network are made public to anyone across the Internet, unless if you change the privacy setting. For your info, Banjo provide you with guide on how to change your privacy setting on every specific social account, if you think that is necessary.

So what do you have to do to start using it? 

With Banjo, all you need to do is download the app, and you’re ready to use it. No profile creation is required, but to be able to seek your friends in your radar, simply connect Banjo with your social network account e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and Gowalla. Otherwise you will just see some random people around you.

Once you are in, you can start checking the list or location map, find friends and contact (or mention) them via twitter, all from your Banjo app. Yes, you can check-in and Tweet without having to leave Banjo.
